Lover's Rock
But for anyone who wants to try something unpopular and different, Lover's Rock will be a pleasant surprise. This album is a head-trip. The best time to listen to it is when you're alone in your room at night. It is mostly a sad album but a good one nonetheless.
The first single off the album is By Your Side, a slow dance that will appeal to any pop lover. The best songs however, I predict, will never be popular: King of Sorrow, Somebody Already Broke My Heart and Immigrant. These songs are terribly sad, but lyrically they're brilliant.
When you hear Sade sing in King of Sorrow, "I want to cook you a soup that warms your soul, but nothing would change, nothing would change at all," you will wonder for whom she wrote the song for and why she could love him that much.
In Immigrant she sings, "He was turned away from every door like Joseph. Even the toughest among us that would be too much… Ain't it hard enough just to make it through the day?" It's the perfect song for bad days when nothing seems to go right.
Again this album is not for everyone. I love and adore this album but still I could not listen to everyday. It is much too sad. But there are times when one needs a sad album and this would be perfect
