Original Sin

ShrekThe movie Original Sin is one of the most well written thrillers to come in a long time. As Angelina Jolie explains in the movie it is not a love story. It is however a story about love. This may make no sense the first time it is heard but the movie is successful in the end in making the distinction.

Original Sin is set in 19th Cuba, where Antonio Banderas, a haciendero, first meets Angelina Jolie, his wfe to be from America. They are married the next day and seem to be happily married for some time.

Eventually Jolie's past catches up with her, revealing her true identity as a con-artist. She leaves her husband and takes his money with her. The rest of the movie is a follows Banderas as he is torn with a love that is repeatedly betrayed.

Until the very end, one never knows Jolie's true nature and intentions. The two leads chemistry together make their awkward relationship interesting.

Original Sin is a good break from romantic comedies. It is different from most thrillers because of the addition of love into the already volatile mix of deception and murder. I highly recommend this one especially to anyone who wants to see Lara Croft in a more risqué role.
